Believers Church is a major Church with constitutional episcopacy for governance rooted in the Apostolic Teachings and traditions of two millenniums of Christianity. The Church at present has thirteen Bishops with the Metropolitan giving his spiritual and administrative leadership in the service of God and humanity.
The Church has 33 dioceses with well over 22 lakh members, in 13 nations. The Church adheres to the Nicene Creed, Biblical Faith, and traditions of the historical church backed up with its own Canonical Constitution. The Episcopal Synod and the Diocesan Councils take the responsibility for planning and executing the mission, religious life, and charitable programs of the Church.
The Church participates in social and development services towards building a new and vibrant democratic nation with ethical and moral ethos. The Synod Secretariat is in Thiruvalla, Kerala, India.
Believers Church is dynamically involved in varied social and educational projects, charitable activities, community development programs, rehabilitation projects and relief works. It respects the nation’s diversity and plays an important role in national integration through various forms of dialogue with civil society groups. The Church is deeply involved in spreading the light of God’s love through its quest for human rights, caste reconciliation, gender justice and social justice – envisioning a new generation in a new world.
Jesus said “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).
