Distinctives

The Believers Church has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Christ, who is the foundation and cornerstone of the Church. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.¹

1. The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and is the only true basis of our faith and conduct, therefore our services are designed with great emphasis upon the teaching of God’s Word, that He might instruct us.²
2. Worship: We believe God is worthy of all praise, reverence and love. We believe worship should be spiritual, therefore we remain flexible and yield to the Holy Spirit to direct our worship. We believe our worship should be inspirational, therefore we give special place to music in our worship.³
3. Love is the greatest virtue and demonstration of reality of Jesus Christ and the fullness of His Spirit in our lives. We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His agape love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no claim ourselves as followers of Christ.⁴
4. Christian Growth: As believers we are growing in our walk with the Lord. We encourage this by abiding in Jesus through obedience to His Word, Prayer and Fellowship, and by yielding our lives to the Holy Spirit.⁵
5. Prayer is a mighty weapon the Lord has given us to see victories won in this Spiritual Warfare, therefore as a fellowship we commit ourselves for serious intercession to see this generation turn to the Lord.⁶
6. Christian service is a part of the Christian life and is the responsibility of all believers. Our goal is to develop the ministry of every believer to use their gifts in love to the benefit of all for the glory of God.⁷
7. Missions: We believe, knowing the Lord Jesus will produce a burning passion for the lost souls. Therefore we commit ourselves in every way to be involved in world evangelism. Our motto is, Go or Send to reach the unreached in our generation.⁸
